Destination Wedding Locations: The Caribbean Islands

Jamaica:

Jamaica is one of the most well-known Caribbean islands, and for good reason. Jamaica’s distinctly laid back and hospitable culture makes it an incredibly desirable destination for any and all vacationers. With varying landscapes, from lush rainforests to sandy beaches dotted with coral reefs, Jamaica has every option for relaxation and excursion.  With plenty of all-inclusive resorts, live streaming your wedding for those who can’t make it is a (sea) breeze. Most notably, Sandals Resorts offers fast and complimentary WiFi at all its Caribbean-based resorts, including those in Jamaica.

Virgin Islands:

Home to shining turquoise waters and creamy sand beaches, the Virgin Islands are among some of the favorites in the Caribbean. If you’re a US citizen and decide to head to the USVI for a destination wedding, you don’t need a passport to head to the islands. On St. John, part of the USVI, you’ll find the Virgin Islands National Park, home to protected wildlife and lush landscape. Not a fan of the forest? One popular way to visit the islands is to live and ride on a boat. What a way to “wedding!”

Cayman Islands:

The Cayman Islands are home to white-sand beaches and crystalline waters. The Cayman Islands are comprised of three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Grand Cayman is the most popular, being visited far more frequently by tourists than the other two. Rainy season is May through October, and dry season is November through April. The Cayman Islands are most well-known for Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, which actually isn’t seven miles long (but we aren’t counting).

St. Lucia:

St. Lucia is a gorgeous island full of mountainous views and lush greenery. The island isn’t one of the first that comes to mind when considering a visit to the Caribbean, but it should be! Equal parts electric and relaxing, St. Lucia is the perfect romantic getaway for a destination wedding.

Bahamas:

Arguably the most well-known islands of the Caribbean, the Bahamas are home to 30 inhabited islands (over 700 all-together!) and is a favorite amongst many. Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is a huge cruise ship port that brings in thousands of visitors. The most popular Bahamian islands to visit are Grand Bahama, Exuma, Eleuthera, The Abacos, Bimini and New Providence (where Nassau is located). Looking for an Insta-worthy time? Head to Pig Beach on Exuma where the animals swim in the water and play along the beach with you. Nassau is historical and Bimini is the sports fishing capital of the world. If you aren’t sure which one you’d rather travel to, island hop and see them all!

If any of these places sound like a great place to marry seaside – we aren’t surprised! They’re the perfect destinations to say “I do!” on! For LoveStream virtual weddings to work, you need a quality Wifi or cell signal, so remember to look for resorts with such. If you aren’t sure, call ahead and ask if they would perform a speed test!
