How A Wedding Live Stream is Different Than Having a Videographer

Many of our couples will ask us, “Do I need to live stream if I have a videographer?” We might be biased, but we have good reason for saying, “Yes!”

We’ll offer just a few reasons why you should still live stream your wedding even if you have a videographer.

You might not receive raw footage.

Many videographers do not give you access to the raw footage from your wedding, simply because it’s not what you paid for. In most cases, the videographer’s goal is to capture the highlights of the day and compile it into a beautiful 3-4 minute video. On the contrary, live streaming is designed to make a virtual guest feel like they are there watching your wedding in-person as it is happening.

Our live streaming works like a DVR.

Some wedding videographers will offer live streaming as a bonus service. However, there can be a few issues with this. First, if they are pushing the video to YouTube, your guests will only have the option to watch live or not watch it at all – there’s no DVR function where they can start at the beginning of the stream if the wedding has already started. With LoveStream, guests have the option to join live or start from the beginning if they don’t want to miss a moment.

Additionally, if they are pushing the video to Facebook or YouTube, there are bots that can detect copyrighted music and shut the stream down. LoveStream has taken precautions to prevent this by purchasing music rights from all the major providers.

Live streaming isn’t a polished product.

And it’s not meant to be! Your videographer is trying to capture a snapshot of the day for you to look back on. A wedding live stream, though, shows all the little moments that you’ll want to remember from the processional to the send-off.

You can watch your wedding live stream immediately.

With a videographer, you might wait months before you see your finished product – which makes sense considering the time and effort that a videographer puts into editing your video highlights.

But for those who don’t want to wait, your live stream can be viewed on your wedding website immediately, and we’ll send you the full video within three business days so you can watch it as often as you want.
