Should You Have a Small or Large Wedding?

Some people know their wedding will include half of their town, and others know they’d rather not get married than have to send out more than 15 wedding invitations.

Then there’s the greater majority in the middle, who have NO clue whether they want a large wedding or a small  wedding. Their budget tells them no, their friends and family tell them yes, and they’re left utterly unsure of what to do. If that’s you – keep reading! We’re going all-in on whether you should have a small or large wedding!

There are two criteria for making your decision: atmosphere and budget. Everything besides these two are trivial when deciding your wedding guest count.

First: Budget

What do you have to spend? Do you have money to blow or are you pinching pennies? Your budget highly determines the size and style of the festivities. Conversations about the budget should be one of the first conversations you have with your partner once engaged. It’s imperative that as a couple you’re on the same page about what you want to spend and how you want to spend it.

Second: Atmosphere

How do you want your wedding to feel? What are your expectations for the vibes and activities? Ask yourself: do you want your wedding to be wilder than the Golden Globes afterparty, or as serene as the boat scene in The Notebook? It’s important when deciding size. A small wedding will not have a Great Gatsby feel, but one that is more intimate, and relaxed. A large wedding, while it can be calm, is normally not. If you think you’d be good with either, then refer back to your budget. That will be the deciding factor.

Even though we’re helping you choose between one or the other, we’d be remiss if we didn’t say there was a way to do both! With LoveStream, you can have a small physical wedding with hundreds (even thousands!) of guests joining in virtually from the comfort of their own homes. It saves you money and connects you and the people you love; it’s the best of both worlds! Check out our packages or book a meeting with our co-founder today!
